Everyone worships something, whether they realize it or not, and unrecognized pain can become the object of that worship. The kingdom was never meant to perform for us or serve our appointments; He is Lord of our purpose, not a servant to our needs. Identity settles this, not performance: made for God's purpose and pleasure, we are part of the whole rather than isolated in blame and condemnation. When we stop and worship, acknowledging God instead of our circumstances, what feels upside down is actually being turned right side up.
