Screaming at the dark never made a room brighter; only turning on the light does. God told David he could not build the house, not for lack of resources or heart, but because he was a man of war who had shed too much blood; the builder would be Solomon, a man of rest. So much of our striving is trying to duplicate what Christ already finished, fighting an enemy when no weapon formed against us can prosper. Freedom from sin and Satan is elementary, where we begin, not where we end; the real message is to look into the furnace and see God instead of the flame.
