When Jesus was asked for the most important commandment, He answered that the Lord our God is one, because there is no independent power outside of God. Nothing can come against you when you are in Christ and Christ is in you, so your struggle was never really something exterior. Everyone worships something, and worship is what clothes your mind in His glory so you see yourself the way He does. He is the vine planted in the earth and raised by the Father, and the fruit He bears comes up through you.
