Grace is not a decoration to be shelved, it is a gift of God given so we can forgive just as we have been forgiven, and every gift only proves itself real when it is used. We are not forgiven because we changed. We change because we were forgiven. Unforgiveness held in the heart becomes the incarceration of our own productivity, blinding us to what God is actually doing in our lives. Grace makes us both guest and host, receiving forgiveness and extending it, so the goodness of God is made visible through us.
