The most important aspect of prayer is knowing who you are praying to, because if you do not know someone, you will not know how to approach them. You are speaking to the holy God who does not change, in whom there is no shadow of variation, no need for improvement. When you pray out of need, you are usually already doubting, approaching Him with anxiety instead of confidence. But when you know who He is, you pray His will and rest, because you are not asking heaven for approval; you were already approved through Christ.
