Within every person are two perceived realities, but only one is real: whatever God intended, because everything is of Him and through Him. The double-mindedness Paul warned about is the very thing we contend against, so what if the thing you are wrestling with is not even real? Look through the single lens, which is Christ, with the simple trust of a child. You cannot boast that sin overcame you, because He overcame that too; separation is not what leads to sin, separation is what sin is. So put fresh batteries in your light and shine it on the kingdom.
